Masterclass: “Clown” – Bryn Holding

An exploration of simple clown and its relationship to the art of acting. This is for actors and theatre-makers alike. With his step by step approach to simple clown the workshop will explore ‘what makes us laugh?’ and “why is that funny?’ sharpening our sense of complicity, ensemble, our relationship to our audience and widening our understanding of how to create and sustain laughter.

“Except I be by Silvia in the night,
There is no music in the nightingale;
Unless I look on Silvia in the day,
There is no day for me to look upon.
She is my essence, and I leave to be,
If I be not by her fair influence
Foster’d, illumined, cherish’d, kept alive.”
